Khalid Zaka has extensive experience in scoping, designing geotechnical, environmental, hydrogeological and geological site investigations, drilling supervision, in-situ testing, soil and rock mass characterization, analysis, interpretation and reporting of data.
Khalid has through understanding of environmental legislation and policies, and their application to plans and projects. He has carried out environmental investigations (Stage 1 & 2) for over 100 projects, developed remedial action plans and has successfully applied remediation techniques for a variety of contaminants such as petroleum hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and heavy metals.
Khalid has Canadian and international experience in scoping, ground support design, project management, underground works, and quality assurance. Highly adept in ground analyses with a solid professional background in open pit mining.
Most recently Khalid was an Expatriate Consultant with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Joint Venture (JV) and he has conducted a due-diligence review of 300 MW Balakot Hydropower Project’s feasibility study report. He developed additional site investigation scope to bring the feasibility study report to a bankable feasibility report.
